Looking for a Rental in Oxford? Here’s What You Need to Know

Oxford’s rental market moves quickly, and to save you time, we’ve outlined everything you need to know about available properties, scheduling showings, and applying—all in one place.

Due to high call volume, we encourage you to read through the details below so you can move forward without waiting on a response.


How to View Available Properties

Our website is always up to date, so there’s no need to ask if we have additional properties not listed online. Everything currently available can be found here:

A few important things to note:

  • Pay attention to the available date listed on the property. If a property has an available date for now, we will not allow move-ins for August.
  • If a property is no longer listed on our website, it has been rented. Some third-party websites we syndicate to may continue displaying rented properties to drive traffic to their sites. For the most accurate availability, always refer to our website.

Scheduling a Viewing

  • Vacant Properties: If a property is vacant, you can schedule a viewing at any time that’s convenient for you.
  • Occupied Properties: If a property is still occupied, we require an accepted application before scheduling a showing. There are no exceptions to this policy.

To schedule a viewing, simply go to the property you’re interested in on our website. If the property is vacant, you’ll be able to set up a viewing directly from the listing.


Renting a Property from Us: Upcoming Availability

At Cissell Management Company, we manage both student and non-student properties. Here’s what you need to know about upcoming listings:

  • Student Rentals: Properties more likely to rent to students, including those closer to campus, typically become available starting around February 1, with most of our available student rentals posted within two weeks of that date. In some cases, we may know availability earlier for properties where current residents are moving or for new rentals that aren’t currently occupied.
  • Non-Student Rentals: For properties in quieter residential neighborhoods, availability generally opens up after the March 1 renewal deadline, with most of our available non-student rentals posted within two weeks of that date.

Stay Updated: Instead of checking our website constantly, sign up for our upcoming availability list, and we’ll notify you as soon as new properties are listed.

Applying for a Property

If you already know which property you'd like to apply for, the next step is to complete our Application Request Form. Once you submit the form, you’ll receive instructions on how to complete the full application.

What If There’s Already an Application on a Property?

We understand that you don’t want to apply for a property if another application is already in process. While it’s possible that a property has an application pending, there’s no need to ask us about this. If an application is far enough along in the process that it would prevent additional applicants from having a fair chance, we will notify you.

However, keep in mind that rental availability moves quickly. If you’re interested in a property, applying as soon as possible gives you the best chance of securing it.
